  • Needed help selling dial-up and broadband access division.  Unsuccessfully attempted to find buyer for 18 months
  • Developed strategy.  Assisted with valuation.  Identified potential acquisition purchasers.

  • President needed help penetrating enterprise software accounts in Western Canada.
  • Developed and implemented sales and marketing strategy that resulted in several large enterprise contracts and a 15:1 ROI
  • Outcome.  Company acquired for significantly more than expectations.  Position eliminated at end of contract term.

Nomadic Collaboration Inc.(6 mos)

  • Management Consultant  reporting to President and Board
  • Publicly traded software development company
  • Needed help with evaluating software, website development, Internet Marketing, M&A and overall business strategy
  • Assisted new President with evaluating vendors, vendor relationships, partners and existing technology infrastructure.  Recommendations resulted in sweeping changes that dramatically cut costs.
  • Outcome:  Project completed.  Company acquired.

Canadian All.ca Online Inc. (6 mos)

  • CTO reporting to President and Board
  • Privately held startup in the web development and Internet Marketing space
  • Company had acquired roughly 100 Internet domains (.ca)  that they wished to develop and promote.  Needed leader with subject matter expertise and project management ability to develop properties from the technical and  marketing perspectives.
  • Worked with Board to develop strategy.  Created RFPs for contract web development, design and Internet Marketing.  Interviewed ~60 contractors.  Hired and project-managed contractors for website infrastructure, branding and online marketing.
  • Outcome:  Funding was not completed.  Project abandoned shortly after launch of Phase 1.

Software Capital Corporation (18 mos)

  • Vice President, Business Development reporting to Chairman and Board
  • Privately held startup in the software financing space
  • CEO had experienced highly successful exit when his publicly held financing company was purchased.  After non-compete, CEO wanted to start new venture that was highly focused on financing niche markets
  • Needed leader with profile, domain expertise in enterprise software, large Rolodex and strong sales skills to manage software financing business
  • Developed sales strategy that focused on helping developers of enterprise software sell more (close more customers and close larger deals).  Contracted offshore call center, used browser-based CRM software to saturate marketplace
  • Closed world’s 3rd largest software developer (SAP).
  • Outcome:  Board determined financing used cars was more lucrative.  Project abandoned.

Siegesoft Solutions / Zimtu Software (6 mos)

  • Management Consultant / Interim President reporting to Board
  • Publicly traded startup in the Internet security space
  • Company, a mining shell, had acquired several software assets that it wished to develop and promote.  Needed leader with profile, subject matter expertise to develop and execute strategy
  • Engaged independent experts Gartner Group and Sierra Systems to audit the software and to assist with identifying target niches.  Determined that software did not function and that cost to rebuild did not merit expense.
  • Outcome: Project abandoned.

Ikona Gear Inc. (3 mos)

  • Management Consultant  (Internet Marketing) reporting to President
  • Publicly-traded startup in the licensing of gearing and power generation patents
  • Traditional industry.  President needed expertise in website development and Internet Marketing to promote company to prospective licensees and investors
