Value Proposition

My professional calling in life is business development.

So we are on the same page, I define business development as all activities that lead-to and follow-from a sale:

Marketing

  • Identifying new business opportunities and target markets.  Working at a strategic level to define, quantify and promote those opportunities.

Prospecting

  • Putting names and faces on target markets.  Understanding a prospect’s needs, budget, purchasing time-frames and decision-making chain of authority.  Developing and presenting proposals.   Managing the opportunity pipeline and keeping good records in the CRM.

Closing

  • Negotiating.  Deal-making.  Turing a prospect into a customer by closing the deal and securing the funds.

Managing

  • Making sure the client receives the value they expected.  Earning their testimonial.  Growing the amount of business we do together.

As a business development professional, the highest compliment I can receive is to earn a customer’s trust.  To that end, I aspire to be a trusted adviser in all that I do.  “Trusted Adviser” is the title I’d most like to see on my business card.

By leveraging passions for sales, technology, entrepreneurship, and creating long-term business relationships… and by driving these passions with a high energy level, professionalism and stubborn determination… I firmly believe there is no such thing as a revenue target that’s too aggressive.

I thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where the financial stakes are high.  The greatest successes in my 20+-year career have been in sales territory management.  The challenges I thrive on sound like, “Here’s your geographic territory.  Sell lots.  Make us look good.  Don’t ask for much.  Now produce!

If I am to compliment your team, the responsibilities should include:

  • playing an active role in generating new clients and increasing revenues
  • working with a team of similar high achievers
  • leveraging my extensive network of decision-making contacts in western Canada
  • bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions
  • being accountable for seeing the job through to completion

I have closed multi-million dollar deals and I have written business plans that have been funded.  In my psychological profile, you will find the traits of a top performer.  My references will confirm that I am independent, results-oriented, perform best at the boardroom (or “C”- level) and that I achieve the goals I set… on time, on budget and to a high degree of quality. I offer management and P/L experience, speak four languages and expect to travel.

I look forward to learning more about your goals and how I might start helping you to achieve them!
